Did you know 70-80% of your immune system lives in your gut? It is the core of our health, and since seriously embarking on my health journey last year, I have been looking for products I can trust to support my overall wellness.

That’s when I discovered Just Thrive, unique supplements clinically proven to deal with common digestive issues, support energy, improve sleep, and promote clear skin. And my guest today, Tina Anderson, along with her husband, created them with us in mind!

Tina has a passion for wellness, helping others live their best physical and emotional lives, and today she’s unraveling the importance of maintaining a healthy gut and exposing the silent offenders that may be jeopardizing our well-being. From antibiotics to toxins in our food, she’ll share insights into how these factors can lead to allergies, obesity, anxiety, and more.

You’ll also learn why advocating for yourself, asking the right questions, and embracing natural solutions, like a spore-based probiotic, can be game-changers in your health journey. Let’s dive in!

Why The Gut Matters

Tina’s journey from a career in litigation to the world of gut health supplements is truly inspiring, and her passion for helping people improve their health is evident in every word she speaks.

Tina explained that our gut is made up of trillions of microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi, collectively known as the microbiome. The Human Microbiome Project, launched by the National Institutes of Health, has revealed that the gut plays a crucial role in dictating our overall health.

It’s not just responsible for digestive issues like diarrhea, constipation, gas, and bloating, but also has a profound influence on non-communicable diseases such as anxiety, depression, allergies, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

What REALLY surprised me the most is that 90% of our serotonin, the “happy hormone,” is produced in our gut. This connection between the gut and the brain is known as the gut-brain axis. The vagus nerve, the largest nerve connecting the brain and the gut, facilitates communication between the two.

This explains why we often experience stomachaches or butterflies in our stomach when we’re excited or nervous!

The Gut-Brain Connection

Tina introduced me to the concept of psychobiotics, which are strains of probiotics that support the gut-brain connection. Just Thrive offers a psychobiotic called Just Calm, which helps reduce the perception of stress and balance cortisol levels.

As someone who has been struggling with elevated cortisol levels, this product immediately caught my attention. I can’t wait to try it and see if it helps me lower my stress levels and improve my focus and memory.

We also discussed the myths surrounding probiotics. Tina debunked the myth that probiotics need to be refrigerated to be effective. In fact, most probiotics on the market, which are made up of lactobacillus and bifidobacterium strains, are killed by stomach acid and do not survive the journey to the intestines.

Just Thrive’s spore-based probiotics, on the other hand, have a protective shell that allows them to survive the stomach acid and reach the intestines where they can make a true change in the gut.

Tina emphasized the importance of gut health for everyone, regardless of whether they have specific gut issues. Our gut is constantly under attack from antibiotics, processed foods, glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup), and other factors in our environment. Taking care of our gut health is foundational for overall health and well-being.

Practicing Gratitude

As an entrepreneur, Tina’s advice to practice gratitude resonated with me. Building a business is challenging, but focusing on gratitude can help shift our perspective and keep us motivated. Tina’s gratitude for the small victories and challenges along her journey has been a driving force behind Just Thrive‘s success.

Taking care of our gut can have a profound impact on our physical and mental health. I’m grateful to Tina Anderson for sharing her expertise and passion for gut health, and I hope that this conversation has inspired you to prioritize your own gut health journey!
