5 Marketing Strategies to Try Before 2023 Ends

Everyone always talks about starting the new year off with bang, with fresh content and new strategies.

But have you ever thought about using the last quarter of the year BEFORE the new year hits in to experiment, learn from your experience, to try new strategies and use that data to inform the decisions you make next year?

This is what I want to encourage you to do before 2023 ends. Use this time of year to set your 2024 up for success by trying these 5 marketing strategies!

I’ve successfully been implementing each of them in my own business and can personally vouch for their effectiveness. (I’m always keeping an eye out for the latest marketing trends!)

These strategies are completely FREE and don’t require any heavy lifting from you to implement them. So even if they don’t all work for you, what do you have to lose?! 

Without further ado, let’s dive into the 5 marketing strategies you just HAVE to try before 2023 ends!

1. Chat Bot Strategy

Over the last twelve months, we’ve launched 40 Chat Funnels, collected 38,490 NEW emails, and generated $900,000 in sales. The best part? 95% of these results are from my free, organic content!

2. Send Out A Weekly Newsletter

In a study done by Data Box, 33% of marketers send weekly emails and 26% send emails multiple times per month. So if you don’t have an email list yet, you need to get on it! You’re behind but I can catch you up! 

There is something SO powerful about growing your email list with new subscribers but I want to talk more about serving your current subscribers consistently.

According to Campaign Monitor dot com, 61% of consumers want to see at least one email a week from brands they follow. So sending out a weekly newsletter is what most audiences want.

A lot of people only email when they have something to sell, so creating a weekly email can help you stay in touch and serve, serve, serve before you ever go to sell. 

We’re sending a ton of emails a day so what would it look like if we intentionally sat down and crafted four simple emails to send out to our list. We can literally set it and forget it but we’ll be meeting our insiders in their inbox in a more intentional way and providing value. 

3. Share 1 Minute of Your Life Every Day

I know it sounds super silly but it’s true, people are innately curious. They want to know about you, your life, even what you eat for breakfast. 

Something awesome happens when you start sharing your life more, you get more comfortable with it. 

Of course, you can (and should!) set boundaries around what you’re willing to share and what you’re choosing to keep private but just letting people in helps them visualize the process or the “why” behind what you do. 

When you see where someone lives, you can start to envision their life there, their words or stories mean more because you’re more connected to what they are doing.

Allows you to give a personality to your work – the difference between a brand and business. 

4. Repurposing Your Content

Are you getting enough out of the content you’re already creating? There’s so many missed opportunities we’re ALL guilty of…

Stop creating things that only serve once on one platform, it’s not an efficient use of your time!

I actually have an entire course about content creation – The Content Lab – that teaches how to create ONE piece of content and repurpose it 10 different ways and get mileage out of it for 30 days or beyond. 

I’m super passionate about creating intentionally because let’s be honest, we don’t have a ton of time to always be creating and too many entrepreneurs are on the hamster wheel of content creation and never actually repurposing in a meaningful way or tying their content to tangible results. 

So how do you ACTUALLY do this? 

  • Repurpose a blog post and break it up into 5 different IG posts – think 5 paragraph essays, each paragraph has a main point or idea, use that copy for things like a carousel or a caption. 
  • Take your Instagram reel and post it onto TikTok or YouTube Shorts. Use it for a paid ad or a pin on Pinterest – yes, you can upload videos onto Pinterest!
  • Write an IG caption and splice it up into Threads or Tweets, use it as copy in your email newsletter or beyond. 

The goal here is to think thoughtfully before you create something and ask yourself: where can I use this, how will I go about getting the most mileage out of one piece of content, and is there anything I should GO into the creation process thinking about before I create it.

5. Get User-Generated Content (UGC)

Asking past clients/customers to create a short video about their experience is SO easy and SO effective right now. Sometimes it’s hard for us to talk about ourselves and our products, so why not invite other people to do the talking for us!

This is an area we’ve been focusing on in my business in terms of getting a process around testimonial collection and what that looks like.

We LOVE hearing from our students and we want to make sure that every time we hear, “This course changed my life” we have a way to hear directly from the customer so they can tell their success story. 

This user generated content idea is working really well on TikTok right now! Scroll for just a few minutes and you’ll see several brands posting their customer’s videos to show 3rd party validation for their product. 

You can ask customers to create content in a bunch of ways:

  • Use branded hashtags to make it easy for customers to tag their posts related to your business. Encourage them to use these hashtags when sharing their experiences.
  • Reward loyal customers for creating and sharing content about your business in the form of discounts, exclusive access, or special recognition.
  • Do a follow up survey after your customer has had a chance to enjoy your product/service/offer and ask them for feedback. 
  • Reach out personally as the founder/CEO/creator and ask about what it was like to work with you. 
  • Get permission to use their story!
  • And pro-tip here: ALWAYS repost stories clients/customers share about your business! It’s such an easy way to show potential customers the value of your product/service, and the more you repost, the more other people will share (because they want a shout out, too!)

There you have it: 5 marketing strategies you need to try before 2023 ends! Like I said, it can’t hurt for you to give these strategies a second look… you won’t know until you try. 

This way, you can decide what you want to continue implementing and what you want to change as we head into the new year!
